cars that drive themselves? no thank you.

Am I the only person who thinks a car that drives itself as in Minority Report is a bad idea? Talk about laziness. Sure it would be nice to be able to sleep and not worry about where you are going but to me that is really dangerous. Someone has to control the car. Whether it be the company that designed the computer program or someone using a gps type system to make your car follow coordinates. Call me crazy but I don't want to blindly put my trust in someone else to get me someplace. It's a little different on mass transit where you have several hundred people going to the same destination. I feel like being in a car that is driving you somewhere would make me feel totally powerless.
I already hate the concept of onstar. Sure it seems like a convenience but they can locate you through gps, if you are in an accident the authorities are automatically called, even if it's nothing but you hitting a light post and you and the car are okay, because hey you might be drinking. And if they can hear you through a microphone in the car when you "call" them, who's to say that they can't listen in at another point? Sure there are laws but I'm pretty certain that laws only work when people agree to follow them, criminals, thugs, dictators, etc generally do not. I will not have on star in my car. You notice how they are advertising it as this great feature, that comes standard on a car? Pretty soon all cars will probably have something like this and people will be able to be tracked.
My husband thinks I'm crazy, but give me an older car than can be worked on and fixed by pretty much any mechanic and one that can't track my every movement. Not that i do anything illegal but i personally believe one day there will be laws against things that I believe and I'm just preparing for that time. Especially since I do not believe in a rapture that occurs before tribulation like most Christians do. I believe that we will be here for all the tribulations and in fact i believe a lot of it has occurred already but things will get much worse. The specific thing I am thinking of is when free trade will be restricted and Christians won't be able to buy things on the open market.
Yes I'm a conspiracy theorist, and perhaps paranoid but I do not like the way new technology is headed.
